Book report: "Special Delivery" by Ann M. Martin

This story was about a girl and her sister and their grandmother. Their Aunt Allie was going to adopt a baby. Aunt Allie went to New York for two weeks to get the baby when it was born. It was not born in that period of time. So she went home then went back to New York to get the baby. When she got home the girls had a surprise baby shower for her!

The main characters of this story are named: Flora and Ruby. Flora and Ruby are sisters and their parents got killed in a car crash. Their grandmother is now looking after them. They live in Camden Falls, Massachusetts. Flora is 12 and Ruby is nine. Flora has dark brown hair and Ruby has blond hair. Both sisters have hazel eyes.

The sisters found it difficult waiting for the baby to come because they wanted to know if it was going to be a girl or a boy.

They overcame the difficulty of waiting by thinking of baby names like this: Douglas, Franklin, Pablo, Susan, Emily, Sarah, Theresa, Lily Sophia, Marilee Rose, Steven, and Augustania. They also planned a baby shower!

The part I liked best was when the baby came home and everybody came to the baby shower because everybody was so happy and excited. And because that was the baby's first home, and Aunt Allie was a mother!

I made a new cover for the book and here it is:

This story reminds me of when my cousin Daniel was born. I stayed up all night. I was so tired that night but it was worth it. My cousin Daniel was so cute and I even got to hold him!

Flora and Ruby were helpful by baby proofing the house and planning the baby shower. They got the baby's room ready too. The baby's room was pink and white.

The girls felt really proud and happy at the end.

I enjoyed the the story a lot!

I enjoyed the book because I love babies and I love reading exciting stories.
